Save yourself the headaches…👇🏻
We never check luggage – but we know some of you still do. And that’s okay. Our goal is to help you pack smarter and avoid the mistakes that turn a trip into a nightmare.
If you ever find yourself needing to check a bag, do it smart. Once that bag disappears behind the counter, you’re trusting strangers, conveyor belts, and a little bit of luck.
Most people don’t think this through enough and pack completely wrong – setting themselves up for catastrophe if the bag goes missing.
Here’s what you should never pack in checked luggage and why (and our pro tip at the end – that’s the big one!) 👇🏻
❌ Batteries & power banks
Lithium batteries are a fire hazard and banned from checked bags. Keep power banks and battery-powered devices in your carry-on.
❌ Cash or credit cards
If your bag gets lost or delayed, so does your money. Always keep valuables and cards with you.
❌ Medications
Checked bags get delayed more often than you think. Keep prescriptions and over-the-counter meds in your carry-on – in original containers.
❌ Electronics
From laptops to cameras, fragile tech doesn’t survive baggage handling. Carry it on and keep it safe.
❌ Important documents
Passports, visas, travel papers – if you need it to travel, it stays with you.
❌ Breakables or souvenirs
Checked bags get tossed around. If it can break, it probably will. Carry fragile items on board or wrap them in soft clothing.
❌ Sentimental items and jewelry
If losing it would ruin your trip, don’t check it.
💡 Bonus pro tip:
Many countries fine travelers for bringing food, fruit, or meat across borders without declaring it. Whether it’s in checked or carry-on, know the rules for carrying any food before you pack. Don’t end up paying fines (or worse!) because you didn’t know.
